Polyaniline Electrospun Composite Nanofibers Reinforced with Carbon Nanotubes

Abstract Reinforcement of fibers was carried out by adding carbon black (CB), and hydroxylated carboxylated nanotubes (CNTs) into electrospinning solution containing doped polyaniline (CSA-PANI) polyacrylonitrile (PAN). CB/CSA-PANI/PAN CNT/CSA-PANI/PAN electrospun nanofiber composite membrane formed in high-voltage electric field. The CSA-PANI/CB/PAN fiber found to be more brittle than the MWCNTs/CSA-PANI/PAN membrane. average diameter nanofibers increased with CB addition, while CNT-added decreased increasing CNT concentrations. Upon greater agglomeration occurred, surface raised slightly. fracture strength greatly improved 1% added but then upon further addition. addition CNTs, first decreased, CNTs advantageous for improving electromagnetic shielding performance membranes essentially same different radiation frequencies. a pronounced decrease obtained CB.
